Medical/Healthcare Interpreting 102™: a 24-
hour oral performance prep or remedial training for certification

 Workshop/Course Description:
This full 24-hour series is designed to prepare individuals who have already passed the CoreCHI™ Exam or The National Board Written Exam and would like to better prepare for the Oral Performance Exam.

You can choose to attend only one session or the full training series based on what mode you feel you need most help with.

The training provides a combination of lectures, exercises, and interpreting audio practices.  (*See below list of available languages)

Session 1
  • Effective Listening and Memory Retention
  •  Consecutive Interpreting
  • Note-taking Skills
Session 2 
  • Analytical prediction and output correction skills for simultaneous interpreting
  • Dual task activities progressively from shadowing to simultaneous message rendition
Session 2 
  • Fast Reading, Text Analysis and Chunking, Text Re-organization and Paraphrasing, Sight Translation

*Consecutive, Simultaneous and Sight Translation Practices available for the following language:

Self-Paced Attendance
Complete the 24-hour training when is most convenient to you at your own pace.  You choose the days and times that fit best your schedule and we'll provide you access to view lecture modules, interpreting audio practices, and print study material

Instructor's over-the-phone support is available to address questions on lecture points and activities.

Online Live Instruction Attendance
Complete the 24-hour training in 3 Fridays by Interacting with your instructor just like in a traditional classroom course!

Note that the Self-Paced Training Fee is exclusive to interpreters who register individually, and is not applicable when REACH becomes a third party vendor to an organization that requires staff member training.
